Charlotte Lovett

FOURTH GRADE

Charlotte was surprised and delighted by the appearance of Waldorf education in her life. She had been searching for life work that she could totally embrace and pour her heart into. In 1975 she had the wonderful fortune to meet Werner Glas, who was one of the early Waldorf patriarchs in the US. She graduated from the Waldorf Teacher Training program through Mercy College in Detroit, Michigan.

She started as a kindergarten teacher in the Detroit Waldorf School and was there for 7 years. During this time, she married Alan Lovett and they have two boys who are now grown with families of their own. The Lovett’s moved to Austin in 1986 where Charlotte opened a Waldorf based home day care. In 1989 she began teaching at the Austin Waldorf School in the Kindergarten and then as a Class Teacher in the Grade School.

In 2020, she joined with others to bring Waldorf education to families during a dark time when health and social freedom were being shaken. This endeavor shaped itself into what is now Raphael Springs where she is presently teaching fourth grade.
